The Dental Surgeon In-Charge
- Proper running of the surgery, i.e. making sure that equipment,
instruments and materials are in order.
- Collaboration with Management and staff of the Welfare
Home.
- Dental health of the residents, i.e. conduct surveys and
screenings to determine their dental needs.
- Coordination and motivation of volunteers.
- Overall in charge of finances, i.e. setting up a fee schedule,
raising funds, buying materials and equipment.
Volunteer Dental Surgeon
- Provide dental treatment.
- Chairside dental health education.
- Keeping proper patient records.
- Giving dental health talks and participating in forums.
Dental Surgery Assistant
- Preparation of Dental Chair and other equipment before
the start of a clinical session.
- Cleaning and sterilization of all instruments.
- Assisting the dental surgeon during treatment.
- Checking all materials and instruments.
Clerk/Receptionist
- Setting up patient appointments.
- Making sure patients turn up for their appointments.
- Planning duty rosters for volunteer dental surgeons and
assistants.
- Collecting and safekeeping of fee payments.
- Dispensing of medicines and post-operative instructions.
Dental Technician
- Construction of dentures, crowns and bridges for our patients
- Keeping proper records of all work done.
Dental Supplier
- Sourcing for dental materials, instruments and equipment
as required by the clinics.
- Keeping track of stocks of materials in the clinic.
- Inform the dentist in-charge of any shortfall of materials.
Dental Equipment Technician
- Maintenance and servicing of dental equipment in the
clinics.
- Repairing faulty instruments and equipment.
- Teaching volunteers and staff on proper care and storage
of equipment.
